Hamburg, N.Y. (WKBW) - Main Street in Hamburg is bustling with business.

"There has been this buzz going on in Hamburg," Business Owner Michael Figiel said.

Michael Figiel owns Salon Savvy in the Village. He just open up his business at the beginning of the month, in a building he said is one of a kind.

"Looking at the space, what I liked were the raw features including the industrial ceiling and exposed beams, brick walls and exposed ceiling. I said I don't want those touched," Figiel said.

Although historic, the Kronenberg Building was vacant for seven years. Many residents called it an eyesore, until about a month ago. Tzetzo Companies out of Buffalo bought the property.

"This is the Kronenburg Building. We got the idea to revitalize the building picking up on the history of the building," Project Manager Jon Mancini said.

Mancini said the nearly 12000 square foot building has additional retail space on the first floor and offices on the second. They even want to build apartments on the upper levels.

"We're looking for new businesses from different areas to bring in more employment and people to the Village of Hamburg," Mancini said.

Mancini says the $1.2 million make over of the building has puts the finishing touches on the Hamburg Village.

"This was the last building on Main that hadn't been completed," Mancini said.

Now, it's in tip-top shape, ready for businesses to take over. As for Figiel, he said he feel support from the community, knowing their on board with the business growth in the area.

"Everybody in the village as far as walking their dogs, running, having their kids out and the local business owners have been so welcoming," Figiel said.

Fiegiel is not only a business owner in Hamburg but he also calls the village home.
