Gun Buyback Program Announced

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced the city's 4th 'No Questions Asked' Gun Buyback Program. The program will be held Saturday, May 14th from 9am to 5pm. The program allows residents to surrender their weapons at 7 different locations across the city with no questions asked. For their surrender, residents will receive a pre-paid cash card. To date, 2,312 guns have been surrendered.

"If we get guns off the street that are potentially used to hurt people it's a good thing," said Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda.

On May 14th the Gun BuyBack Program will take place at the following locations:

-Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 96 Jewett Parkway
-Prince of Peace Christian Church, located at 190 Albany Street
-Primera United Methodist Church, located at 62 Virginia Street
-St. Thomas Aquinas Church, located at 450 Abbott Road
-True Bethel Baptist Church, located at 907 East Ferry Street
-St. John Baptist Church, located at 184 Goodell Street
-St. Mark's Episcopal Church Parish Hall, Located at 256 Riverside Avenue

Anyone who surrenders a weapon will receive a pre-paid card ranging from $10 to $100 depending on the weapon.
