LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Lockport construction project is turning a long-vacant building into a winter playground for families.

Mayor Michael Tucker helped break ground on a new ice rink and civic center at the corner of Market and Chestnut today. The vacant building will be torn down to house the complex.

Lockport hasn't had an ice rink for more than 25 years.

The $13 million complex is expected to open next fall.
