Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -There were big celebrations at the Democratic Headquarters Tuesday night at the Adam's Mark Hotel when Mark Poloncarz secured a victory in the Erie County Executive race against incumbent Chris Collins. Poloncarz says he hopes for a smooth transition into his new position and received well wishes from Governor Andrew Cuomo Wednesday.

"My congratulations," said Cuomo. "Enjoy today and get to work on the transition. Find the best talent you can and buckle your seat belts for your first day in office because it is tough to be in government during these economic times."

Poloncarz says he's grateful to his supporters and the residents who wanted change in the county. Poloncarz vows to deliver reform and says his primary focus when he takes office will be to create jobs.
