The Salvation Army Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
November 24, 2011

Buffalo, NY The staff and volunteers at The Buffalo Salvation Army have been cooking and baking for the past two days in preparation for the annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner. For more than 70 years, The Salvation Army of Buffalo has been preparing a community Thanksgiving meal, open to all. This year the staff is cooking nearly 500 pounds of turkey and 200 pounds of mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and desserts.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the special Thanksgiving Worship service that will be held promptly at 11:30am in the Chapel at 960 Main Street. The traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served at Noon. Please note that all guests must enter through the Main Street entrance of the building. Take-out meals are not available.

“We are especially grateful to the many individuals, families, and business partners who make our work possible. There are so many people in this community who donate their time, money and goods to bring this Thanksgiving ministry together. 365 days a year we are serving the community and our partners overwhelmingly support us.” said Major Thomas Applin, Area Coordinator of The Salvation Army Buffalo.
