Federal and state agriculture officials in Florida are in the process of trying to remove a damaging species of giant African Snails found in a Miami neighborhood, according to a story in the Miami Herald.
According to the story, the snail can grow to be 10 inches in length and four inches wide. The report says this particular species of snail is considered one of the most damaging in the world when it comes to eating plants and attacking agricultural areas and ecosystems.
Around 1,000 have been found in a one-mile radius, according to the story.
