Elma, N.Y. (WKBW) - Ava, 8, has been dancing her entire life.

"I'm happy because its fun to dance with all my friends," Ava said.

Her mom Stacey Wawrzyniec has also been dancing since she could remember. Although she went into the corporate world for a while, she eagerly returned to her roots.

"I wanted to get back to what I think is my calling so I opened up the Buffalo Dance Center one year ago," Wawrzyniec said.

That's not all. They started a little something fun for kids on summer break.

"We have six weeks of summer dance camp. Each week is dedicated to a specific age group and a specific style of dance," Wawrzyniec said.

Whether it is jazz, ballet or hip-hop, they have it covered teaching everyone, even beginners.

"The kids don't need at private dance experience we almost try and breakdown the steps," Wawrzyniec said.

Ava said there are many reasons she loves to dance.

"You get to feel special because you get to dance," Ava said.

It is more than dancing, too. This program offers other activities, which include books and tiaras.

"They're also doing games and crafts, for the little ones we are in story time so there is a lot of things to do in the course of the camp," Wawrzyniec said.

Both Ava and Stacey say although the little ones will be on summer vacation, they can still stay in the groove with dance camp.

"I think dance has so many benefits not only the physical. It also builds confidence. It also is a sense of discipline, and focus. We do things in a routine here and it's good for a lot of kids because they are no longer in school," Wawrzyniec said.

Ava said her favorite part is the recital at the end of camp.

"I love when people watch me dance," Ava said.
