( RELEASE) General Motors will resume production at the company's assembly plant in Shreveport, Louisiana and engine plant in Tonawanda, NY on Monday. March 28, 2011.
Employees should report to work at their regular start times. Although GM continues to monitor the situation in Japan, the company wants to resume production at the plant to support our customers.
GM had suspended production at Shreveport Assembly during the week of 3/21 due to a parts shortage related to the crisis in Japan, which resulted in the Tonawanda Engine plant having to lay off 59 employees as well during that same week.
