Buffalo, NY-

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, Liberty Cab, Mark Croce, and several other Chippewa area bar owners are announcing a Saint Patrick's weekend campaign in which patrons who have drank too much are encouraged to take advantage of a free ride home.

From Friday, March 15th at 9 p.m. through 12 p.m. Monday, March 18th, if a bar patron is at one of the establishments involved, and feel they are too intoxicated to drive home, they are encouraged to ask the bartender for a yellow voucher.

Once the customer is given a voucher, the bartender or patron can call 716-877-7111 or download the free Taxi Magic App on their phone and Liberty Cab will pick the customer up.

A voucher must be presented to the cab driver to receive a free ride home (within a 25 mile radius of the bar).

"As a community we all must work together to help combat drunk driving," said Sheriff Howard. "We owe that to everyone on our roadways. Whether you choose to participate in this campaign or not, please, I encourage you to have a designated driver."

To date, the bars participating in the St. Patrick's Day weekend anti-drunk driving campaign include:

-Sky Bar
-Darcy McGees
-Soho Bar
-City Tavern
-Bada Bing
-Buckin' Buffalo
-Indulge Bar
-Noir Bar

Other establishments are expected to join in.
