Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) - Back in 2002, D.E.A. agents raided 900 Genesee Street in the City of Buffalo.
They discovered a very large marijuana grow operation and several weapons.
After the raid, the building was seized as part of an asset forfeiture case and turned over to Rev. Kenyatta Cobb and Ha'naniah Lutheran Ministry. But the group had to meet certain criteria to keep it.
They had to repair the dilapidated building.
Bring it up to code-- and keep it that way.
It took work, sweat, and donations-- but they did it!
Friday- The U.S. Attorney's office, members of the Ha'naniah Church, and other community members celebrated the burning of the mortgage-- symbolizing Ha'naniah church now owns the building.
