HAMBURG (WKBW) It took the Hamburg School Board almost 5 hours in executive session before a final vote was taken to remove Catherine Forcucci from the board, due to official misconduct.
The special meeting of the board took all night, including the recommendations from the hearing officer on what plan of action the district should take. According to the officer's report, Forcucci was guilty of 8 out of 12 charges of official misconduct, including bullying and harassing board members and the superintendent.
The 5-1 vote on the board will take effect immediately, and Forcucci's seat will be vacated.
Forcucci and her attorney said they are not sure if they will appeal the decision to the state board of education.
The board must now fill that vacated seat. As of late Tuesday, there were no set plans on how or when that would occur.
