Cattaraugus County (WKBW) Residents continue to clean up after heavy rain brought flash flooding to the Town of Little Valley on Thursday.

The Office of Emergency Services are distributing leaflets on how to document damage for reimbursement coverage, and working with residents on debris collection.

Residents of the Town Of Little Valley looking for help should call 716-938-6646.

Many homes and businesses were damaged when an hour of heavy downpours washed down the surrounding hillsides and into the town, causing a flash flood. Along its way it carved through the area, hitting hard on one main local street. The flood filled basements, covered lawns and sidewalks with mud and water, and even carved up parts of the road.

One resident called her street a "river" while another said "you could canoe down it."

Luckily no injuries were reported, and the flooding only seemed to last a few hours.

Now the cleanup process begins in Little Valley as residents continue to pump out basements, clean up their property, and try to return back to some sense of normalcy.
