Five teens sentenced today in Erie County Court
It was sentencing day in Erie County Court today for five of the nine teenagers who brutally attacked a 66-year-old man in Shoshone Park last year.
Erie County Court Judge Thomas Franczyk sentenced all five teens with youthful offender status and five years probation.
Video evidence from the crime scene in May shows the boys brutally beating and harassing then 66-year-old Thomas LeGrand, an employee of the Mayor’s Impact team.
Judge Franczyk said that the video evidence played an important role in the sentencing of the teens.
In addition to the 5 years probation, 17-year-old Damari Phillips was sentenced to 90 days probation at the Erie County Correctional Facility, while 17-year-old Homer Barney and Quashaun Moore were sentenced to 30 days.
