BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Eyewitness News Political Analyst Bob Davis predicted that Democrat Kathy Hochul won the 26th Congressional seat in the special election.

Davis beat other national news organizations in making this prediction, that aired at 10p.m. on WKBW-DT as a text crawl during "Dancing With The Stars."

Thanking her supporters at a U.A.W. Hall in Amherst, Hochul noted her underdog status going into the race, and said her victory came because of her position on issues like Medicare and business development.

Hochul's Republican challenger Jane Corwin's campaign obtained a court order on Tuesday that was delivered to all seven county elections boards in the 26th congressional district.

The order, granted by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia, prevents elections officials from certifying the results of Tuesday's special election and orders the absentee and military ballots impounded.

Tea Party candidate Jack Davis ran a race that had a message many said resonated with Republicans. This is Davis' third run at a race, which he primarily funded on his own. Eyewitness News Political Analyst Bob Davis noted that Jack Davis' numbers likely took away some Republican numbers for Corwin.
