BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) - It was a busy day for firefighters in the Queen City. Two homes went up in flames around the same time Sunday afternoon.

The first one started in a vacant structure on East Eagle Street. The roof collapsed on the crew inside injuring one firefighter. He was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Around the same time, crews were called to another fire on Woeppel Street where two families have no place to live. The fire caused an estimated 30-thousand dollars worth of damage.

Officials don't believe the fires are connected. They both remain under investigation tonight.
