WEST SENECA, NY (WKBW) - A morning fire destroys a house in West Seneca Thursday morning.
Five fire departments responded to a home that caught fire on Indian Church Road. Fire officials said it started in the living room and spread throughout the house.
"From the initial call to when we had people on scene it was just a couple of minutes that's why we had a good knock down and response time. The training that we do really paid off. We aggressively attacked it and kept the major fire load in the living room," Winchester Assistant Fire Chief John Rusinski said.
The house is occupied but no one was home at the time. Neighbor Brian Cole said the man who lives there is sick and only stays at the house sporadically.
"It's a terrible loss as you can see. The man who lives there, I've know all my life is now homeless," Cole said.
Fire officials said that it was one of the hottest fires West Seneca has seen in a long time. Investigators are still looking for what caused the blaze.
