TOWN OF OAKFIELD, NY ( WKBW ) A Sunday morning fire in the Town of Oakfield left a family homeless.

Firefighters responded to a 3 alarm fire on Macomber Road at 10:30a.m. Sunday morning.

Both floors of the home were fully engulfed in flames.

Two adults lived in the home, with a baby and a toddler. One of the children was inside with an adult when the fire started.

The child was taken to a hospital in Rochester.

Firefighters were on the scene for over three hours, mostly because of a lack of water.

East Pembroke Fire Chief Don Newton told Eyewitness News, "We ran out of water quite a few times. We did not have enough water, we kept running out, so we couldn't fight the fire to the best of our abilities."

Two firefighters were also treated for minor burns from falling debris. The house was declared a total loss.

The family of the victims are helping them with a place to stay.
