North Tonawanda, NY (WKBW)- An early morning fire Saturday has destroyed the 90-year-old Elks Lodge 860 on Main Street in North Tonawanda. The historic landmark in Niagara County was built in 1921 and designed by architect Louis Eggert. Investigators believe the fire started on the 3rd floor near a newly installed boiler, but have not released a cause. No one was inside the building when the fire erupted, but a wedding reception was planned for that afternoon. The blaze also destroyed DJ equipment and food catering supplies.

"I was in absolute disbelief. I knew we just had to deal some how," said Mother of the Groom Laura Dolpp. "We had people helping all day."

The building was demolished on Sunday. Members tell Eyewitness News they would like to rebuild and have recovered the original blue prints, but plans are too preliminary at this point.
