LeRoy, NY (WKBW) An investigation by the New York State Comptroller's Office has led to the arrest of Dennis Snow, treasurer of the LeRoy Fire Department.
Snow has been charged with two counts of third-degree grand larceny, 42 counts of first-degree forgery, and two counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. All of the charges are felonies.
The comptroller's office accuses Snow of stealing almost $50,000 from the LeRoy Fire Department and the firefighters' benevolent association. Snow allegedly made transfers and withdrawals from the fire department's account without authorization, and used the money for personal expenses. When authorization was required, investigators say Snow admitted to forging co-signers' signatures.
The comptroller's office is completing its audit of the LeRoy Fire Department, and Dennis Snow is due back in court on August 13.
