Give 4 Greatness Campaign Announces Fiesta 4 the Arts
BUFFALO, NY: The two-month-long Artvoice Give 4 Greatness Campaign to raise funds for local arts and cultural institutions wraps up on Thursday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo – with a “Fiesta 4 the Arts!” event at the Albright Knox Art Gallery. The interactive party runs from 6:30-10:00 p.m. with music, dance, theater, and more in the gallery’s auditorium and adjoining Clifton Hall, with surprises in store in the connecting tunnels.
For just a $5 donation, attendees will be entertained all night with music by DJ Cutler, The Albrights, Unit III, The Rockaz, and Midnight Sun Club. Dance performances will feature LehrerDance, Habit Dance, Nimbus Dance, Configuration Dance Theatre, Amy Taravella, and Anne Burnidge Dance. And throughout the art gallery, expect sporadic performances by many more of Buffalo’s favorite actors, musicians, poets, and artists.
Raffles, a Chinese auction, and a cash bar will also be on hand. Afterwards, the party continues at Cole’s, Sportsmen’s Tavern, Club Diablo and other venues in the neighborhood, with additional performances and raffle prizes.
The Give for Greatness campaign is simple: from March 8 until May 5, Artvoice is joining with M&T Bank and a host of other partners in effort to raise $1 million to benefit cultural institutions that lost funding in this year's Erie County budget. The idea is that cultural institutions are so valuable to the community that they deserve more than mere sustenance – they deserve to thrive.
Until 8pm, entrance to the event is through Clifton Hall. For more information, please call 716.881.6604 or visit www.giveforgreatness.org. For donations to the auction/raffle, please contact Artvoice or Megan Callahan, firstname.lastname@example.org.
WKBW is a proud supporter of the "Give For Greatness" campaign with M&T Bank and ARTVOICE.
