AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) The Town of Amherst Planning Board is expected to vote on a proposal by Fidelis Care New York, and supported by Uniland Development, to expand the Fidelis facilities on Crosspoint Parkway.
The $16.5 million dollar project calls for the construction of a new 4-story building to be located between the current Fidelis Care offices and The Chapel.
The proposed four-story addition would double the size of the current office building in CrossPoint Business Park, adding approximately 87,000 square feet.
Fidelis Care employs 645 employees at the Amherst location with an additional 385 to be hired after the expansion is complete.
If approved, the construction could begin this year with a possible completion date of 2014.
From Rev. Patrick J. Frawley, Fidelis Care President and CEO:
"Fidelis Care's Amherst office serves as the operations center of our
organization and is vital in serving the needs of our members and
providers. This expansion is the result of membership growth in all of the
programs and products we offer and will help us continue our mission to
provide quality, affordable health insurance coverage."
