BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - There is plenty for the entire family to enjoy this weekend downtown as summer begins to wind down.

It all starts Friday night at the historic Statler Towers, as all the hard work to restore the old hotel is on display as it hosts the 30th Annual Buffalo Irish Festival.

"We're expecting over 10,000 people over the three days. If someone is looking for something to do, end of summer, it's a great fun thing to do. Come down and check it out and enjoy the Irish heritage," said Statler owner and developer Mark Croce.

The Irish Festival run through Sunday evening.

If music and waterfront are more your thing, head down to the Central Wharf for the final weekend of Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor. Rock legend Alice Cooper performs Friday night and the weekend wraps up with Great Big Sea on Saturday.

Those concerts get underway around 6:00 p.m. each night.

But if you're looking for something a little more refined, the 12th Annual Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts kicks-off Saturday and runs through Sunday.

"Basically you can come here and not spend a penny and see over 70 performances from Western New York including dance, puppetry, Tai-chi, fencing and some of Buffalo's best bands," says Festival Chairman Joe DiPasquale.
