Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW)- You may have noticed a change to a large part of Buffalo's waterfront as you drive on the Skyway.

"The land has already been prepped to accommodate a large event," Jason Riggs with Local Company On the Water Productions said.

That event is the Outer Harbor Fest. A newly formed company called "On the Water Productions" headed by Jason Riggs, teamed up with the NFTA who owns the land. Together, they are hosting a four day festival on the site of the old restaurant called the Pier on Fuhrmann Boulevard.

"Full carnival right here like Coney Island in Buffalo, there's a huge concern space and beer garden, barbeque and the biggest picnic you'll ever see," Riggs said.

They are expecting more than 100 thousand people July 28 through July 31st. Families can make their way to the grounds by car or by boat with the help of the NFTA.

"They're putting in docks space on the old Pier site that has been done for years. They getting it done, floating three hundred feet of docks," Riggs said.

Once the docks are in the water, they can accommodate 30 boats at a time and the new Buffalo water taxi will also be dropping people for at the site.

Although On the Water Productions is a for profit organization, most of the money make will go toward improvements to the land and back to the community. The Boys and Girls Club of New York will see a large amount of cash from this event.

"On the Water Productions is geared toward putting a theme with their events. Every event benefits a local charity and it goes back into the community stimulating waterfront and local business," Riggs said.

Riggs said this is an affordable family-oriented event with food fun and fireworks. It's only five bucks a person and children under 12 are free.
