SALAMANCA, NY - One man is dead and another remains in critical condition at Olean General Hospital after a three-person stabbing on Summit Street in Salamanca early Saturday morning.
The Sheriff's office released information Sunday that two Native American males from the Tuscarora Indian reservation were involved in an altercation with three city residents at the Summit Street house.
The man that died in the incident has been identiified as Timothy Kraft of Sanborn, N.Y.
Cattaraugus Sheriff deputies told Eyewitness News they responded to call around 1am Saturday to three people stabbed. Two people were taken to Olean General Hospital and a third was taken to Bradford, Pennsylvania.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb told Eyewitness News Saturday that one of the men taken to Olean decoded on the way to the hospital and died due to the injuries he suffered. One of the other two victims was treated and released the other underwent surgery..
County investigators are continuing to piece together the puzzle on this rare incident in Cattaraugus County. Whitcomb said charges could be pending upon the district attorney's discretion after the conclusion of the investigation.
Whitcomb said everyone involved in Saturday's incident is accounted for.
