BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Police have identified the man who was struck and killed while trying to cross Main Street Thursday night.
53-year-old Paul Sason of Buffalo apparently didn't see the oncoming car, witnesses say, when he attempted to cross Main Street near Florence Avenue just after 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Nearby residents say Sason was well known in the neighborhood, often offering to help out with the trash or lawn.
Dragica Markovick is a nurse who lives just a few houses from where the accident happened and was one of the first on the scene.
"Looking at the person that was struck, it was pretty traumatic. It was very sad. There wasn't anything to be done for him at [that] point."
Police continue to investigate the incident, however no charges have been filed.
