BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - It was a day of protest for fast food workers across the country, who want to see their wages double.

In Buffalo, a small group of workers and supporters picketed two fast food restaurants on Main Street near W. Utica Street.

The current federal and New York State minimum wage is $7.25. Workers want to see that go up to $15.

The National Restaurant Association is pushing back.

"Dramatic increases in starting wage ... will increase prices for restaurant meals ... and lead to few jobs created."

New York State's minimum wage is going to increase to $9 an hour starting next year over the next three years.
