Alyssa Loschaivo, 14, is a cheerleader, piano player and a person that family members describe as one of kind.

"She has made a huge impact on everyone's life, even people we haven't ever met," Aunt April Loschiavo said.

Alyssa's cousin said she is a fun, smart and talented person.

"Alyssa is spunky. She is a fighter and that's how she made this far, she's a ball of fire," Elise Loschiavo said.

But last Thursday Alyssa was hit by a van while walking on Union Road in West Seneca. Now, she is in critical condition and her family is asking for support and prayers through Facebook.

"I just made the site public and It's amazing how many people have been supporting and praying for her," April Loschiavo said.

More than 8,000 people from all over the country have been sending in their thoughts and prayers. The family even made t-shirts and an emotional video showing off the smile that they say Alyssa is know for.

Alyssa's family is also setting up an account to help her parents with medical bills during her stay at the ECMC.

"Today we were going to the bank to create a fund for Alyssa Loschiavo," April Loschiavo said.

Her family said it's all about the prayers and hopes that she recovers with her smile brighter than ever.
