JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Southern Tier man is accused of shooting his gun several times near a school and residential areas.

In November of 2012, a dead deer was found near Bush Elementary School near Jamestown, which lead to a State investigation by the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Police have taken 60-year-old Bruce Giddy of Falconer into custody. Investigators say Giddy is the gunman responsible.

Giddy was charged with 46 misdemeanors. He's also accused of hunting in several other areas which are considered "off limits."'

Giddy is facing nearly 50 charges in total.
