Extra Patrols on the Road after Sabres Games

On Monday night Troopers had extra patrols on enforcing the vehicle and traffic laws following the Sabres vs. Flyers home playoff game. State Police stopped a vehicle on Bullis Road in the Town of Elma for a traffic violation. Further investigation led to the arrest of the operator, CHARLES URMANEC, 54, of Elma, NY for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed at the Elma Station and a breath test resulted in a BAC of .09%. Mr. URMANEC was later released and will appear in the Elma Court at a later date. Another traffic stop on Bullis Road in the Town of Marilla led to the arrest of the operator, THOMAS J. SHRIVER, 33, of Alden, NY for Felony Driving While Intoxicated. SHRIVER was also processed at the Elma Station where a breath test resulted in a BAC of .19%, more than twice the legal limit in New York State. Mr. SHRIVER was released and will appear in the Marilla Town Court to answer the charges. Troopers also made two arrests for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana following traffic stops. On ST-20A in the Town of Wales Troopers charged DAVID C. BICK, 47 years of age with the violation, and on ST-16 in the Town of Holland Troopers charged STEVEN J. CRACCHIOLA, 20 years of age with possession of marihuana. Both men were issued appearance tickets returnable in Town Court at a later date.

In addition to the above four arrests State Police issued 53 tickets for various violations of the vehicle and traffic laws.
