TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) - Five people have been arrested for leaving bottle bombs at two different locations in a Western New York town.
Police responded to a number of reports of explosive bottles placed throughout the Town of Tonawanda Thursday.
A number of bottles were found at the Brighton Park Golf Course, while three devices were found at the Ken-Ton district owned Green Acres building.
The district Superintendent placed all buildings on lock down as a result, creating a minor disruption to some summer classes. Students were ordered to remain in a central location within their respective building as police and staff performed sweeps and searches for more explosive devices.
Police say the devices do not appear to have been targeting anyone or anything specific, and no injuries or damage have resulted.
Police have located the five individuals responsible for the creation and discharge of the pressurized bottles. Charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.
Police have released no details on the five people arrested, except to say they will be facing charges.
