ROCHESTER - BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- A fire from a Hydrogen tank explosion during a truck re-fueling at the Monroe County Refueling Station on Scottsville Road near the Rochester Airport, shut down the main runway there for a couple hours during Thursday afternoon. Two people were hurt in the accident.

The area around the airport was evacuated and no flights were allowed in or out of the airport. Two flights going into the airport were diverted to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. "We diverted an American Eagle flight and an Air Tran flight... diverted to Buffalo," David Damelio, the Director of the Rochester International Airport, said.

The passengers apparently were allowed off the planes momentarily before returning back to Rochester.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation. Police say they're pretty sure it was just an accident.
