Another locally-based bank has partnered with the provider of automated teller machines in Rite Aid pharmacy stores in order to expand its ATM presence across New York state.
Evans Bank N.A. announced the agreement Jan. 17. The bank did not disclose terms.
The deal allows customers of Evans Bank to use 500-plus ATMs in Rite Aid pharmacies throughout the state at no charge. Sixteen of those ATMs - in Lockport, Grand Island, Cheektowaga, Eden, Silver Creek and Gowanda - are branded as Evans Bank machines.
Last month, Five Star Bank announced a similar agreement with Welch ATM, a prominent ATM branding company that provides ATMs for Rite Aid pharmacy stores. Across the state, 55 ATMs located in Rite Aid stores are branded as Five Star ATMs.
Evans Bank is the eighth-largest deposit-taker in Western New York, holding 1.9 percent of the deposit market share as of June 30, 2013. It recently completed an office consolidation project that involved buying new back-office space, selling two properties and relocating employees.
