Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Erie County republicans say the 2013 election was a big time win for the party.

For the first time since 1977, the GOP has gained the majority of the Erie County Legislature.

County Hall is now split between six republicans and five democrats. The County Legislature race came down to the eighth district. Ted Morton (R) claimed victory of the open seat, previously held by Terrence McCracken (D).
