Philadelphia (WKBW.com) Tyler Ennis said he wanted to be the one to score the game winner, and the youngster got it done. Ennis played the hero, scoring at the 5:31 mark in overtime to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3. The victory gives the Sabres a 3-2 lead in a series. Game six is Sunday back in Buffalo

This game could have ended differently. The Sabres watched a 3-0 first period lead evaporate with the Flyers refusing to go away quietly. James van Riemsdyk and Andrej Meszaros scored for the Flyers in the second period. Daniel Briere scored his third of the series in the third to tie the game at 3 and force overtime.

The Ennis goal came off a big rebound following a Mike Webber shot, and was his second of the night. Ennis scored his first goal of the series to open the scoring in the first period. Thomas Vanek, and Marc Andre Gragnani also scored in the frame for a 3-0 Buffalo lead before Philadelphia started to chip away. The Gragnani goal chased Flyers starter Brian Boucher who gave up 3 goals on 11 shots, he was replaced by Michael Leighton late in the first.

On the injury front Forward Jason Pominville left the game in the first period after a skate cut the back of his ankle. He struggled to get off the ice, and did not return. The Sabres are expected to update his status on Saturday

The victory gives the Sabres control of the series. They can wrap things up with a victory on Sunday. Game six is set for 3pm Sunday afternoon from the HSBC Arena
