Elma, N.Y. (WKBW) With both of the Catholic elementary schools in Elma on the list of schools closing at the end of the school year, town and school officials are trying to help parents and students sort out their options.

Tuesday officials from both Saint Vincent De Paul and Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary met with Town of Elma supervisor Dennis Powers to discuss options for students after the Bishop announced last week that the schools were two of the ten that would close.

Parents are now left with no private or catholic schools in the immediate area as they decide where to send their kids next year.

Powers is hoping that the Bishop will reconsider and keep at least one of the schools in Elma open.
