Elderly Man Stabbed in Violent Home Invasion

Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to burglarize a home on Linwood Avenue in Blasdell, but was interrupted by the home owner. It happened at 1:30 pm Wednesday.

Investigators say the resident noticed something out of place in his garage. When he went to check it out he encountered the suspect, hey got into a struggle, and the robber allegedly stabbed the elderly man with a knife in the head and back.
Police say the suspect then stole the homeowners car keys then took off in the victim's car. The victim was taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is a black male, possibly in his 20's, six-foot tall and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and knit cap.

Police are looking for a 2001 black four-door Honda Accord license plate number "CPX 7739."
