BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Bills rookie QB EJ Manuel will miss the rest of preseason after suffering an injury to his left knee.
Manuel, who is in a battle for the starting quarterback position with veteran Kevin Kolb, had an MRI on the knee Saturday morning, and the team says he is in need of a 'minor procedure'.
The Buffalo Bills released the following statement to media Saturday afternoon:
“EJ Manuel had some swelling in his left knee this morning and was examined by our medical staff. An MRI revealed that he will need to have a minor knee procedure and that has been scheduled. He will miss the remainder of the preseason and then be re-evaluated at that time. Kevin Kolb will be our starting quarterback for this weekend’s game at Washington. Additionally, wide receiver Kevin Elliott has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.”
Manuel went 10 for 12 for 92 yards and a touchdown Friday against the Vikings, where he came of the bench to start the 2nd half.
