BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW / DyngusDayBuffalo.com ) Dyngus Day, the annual post-Lenten bash, attracts tens of thousands to Buffalo, New York to celebrate spring, show Polish pride, flirt with pussy willows and listen to the best polka bands in the nation.

Marchers are stepping out in the Polonia District, ending with a party at the Central Terminal.

Dyngus Day always falls on the Monday after Easter. In 2012, Dyngus Day will take place on Monday, April 9th. Activities in the Buffalo-Niagara region have expanded to one week of events. The 2012 Dyngus Festival begins Easter Sunday, April 8th and continues through Sunday, April 15th.
