BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The driver involved in the deadly crash that killed a local teacher is not facing any criminal charges, according to the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.
75-year-old Beverly Waltz was driving on Sheridan Drive near Belmont Avenue when she struck and killed Brian Dugan while he was jogging.
Police have charged Waltz with Vehicle and Traffic violations, passing a red light and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. These charges are based on witness statements and evidence from the accident scene.
Dugan, a teacher at Kenmore West for 15 years, was laid to rest earlier this week. He left behind a wife and two young children.
