BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Healthy living expert Dr. Janet Gane stopped by Channel 7's "Eyewitness News This Morning" with some good advice for your holiday picnic.

Summer Safe Cooking Tips

Cook all meat thoroughly and use a meat thermometer.

Do not put meat on a bun or roll until fully cooked.

Do not let partially cooked meats sit.

Any dish or utensil that has contacted raw or semi-cooked meat should be washed.

Marinating sauces used on raw meats should not be reused.

Toss any food left out more than two hours.

When shopping, carry a cooler with ice for perishable foods.
