BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW)- Thousands of people, with umbrellas in hand and rain boots on their feet, took part in the "End Alzheimer's" walk on Saturday.
WKBW'S Shawn Stepner was the emcee for the event put on by the Alzheimers Association, Western New York chapter.
Over $300,000 dollars was raised to help find a cure for the disease.
"We don't have to accept it as a part of our future. There is something we can do about it," said Leilani Pelletier, Executive Director, Alzheimers Association, Western New York chapter.
Close to 32,000 people have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in Erie County.
