Cheektowaga, NY (WKBW) SPCA investigators seized 18 dogs and four cats from TLC Grooming Plus in Cheektowaga on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Erie County SPCA says it received a call Tuesday from a family who boarded their 8-year-old Siberian Husky at the boarding and grooming facility over Labor Day weekend. The dog, named Sabre, was in extremely poor health when the family picked him up.

The SPCA launched an investigation Tuesday based on information it received from Sabre's family. After looking at conditions of animals at TLC Grooming Plus, investigators spoke to the Erie County District Attorney's Office and made the decision to seize all animals in the facility's care.

On Wednesday afternoon, the SPCA seized 18 dogs and four cats at the facility. Investigators say many appeared to have been shut in their kennels for extended periods of time. Some were covered in feces and urine. The animals received immediate medical attention from SPCA staff.

According to the SPCA spokesperson, investigators are not planning on shutting down TLC Grooming Plus, but the facility's owner will likely face charges.
