BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) An individual who was supposed to be watching "Gilly" and "Gabby" - two Boston Terriers - told police that four men jumped out of a car and grabbed the animals.

The incident allegedly happened last Wednesday night near Norwood Avenue and Summer Street.

The owners, Jordie Kindervater and Sarah Slusak told Eyewitness News that someone came forward after reports of the missing dogs hit the media. That individual told them they bought the dogs from two men on the street last Friday.

Sarah explained, "He was so happy to give them back to us, because he knew it would make us so happy. But he was also kind of sad to lose his two new friends. We're just so thankful that they fell into the right hands, and that they were being taken care of."

The person who returned the dogs says he paid $200 dollars for them. He was given the promised $2,000 dollar reward for returning the dogs.

As for the people who grabbed the dogs, they are still on the loose.
