BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) Some sports consultant experts say Buffalo Bills fans need to continue to show support for the team to prove they want the Bills to stay in Western New York.

Bills fans have a passion for the team that runs deep in their blood, and the thought of their beloved NFL Franchise not being in Western New York is not one Bills fans will entertain.

Speculation continues to surround where the Bills will be long-term, and while no one has a concrete answer as of yet, a prominent sports consultant we spoke with says this year more than ever is crucial.

Marc Ganis, President of SportsCorp says fans and stakeholders need to come together and show this team belongs here in Western New York.

The threat of Toronto is still real, and it is expected rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his business partner Larry Tanenbaum will but a bid in on the team.

Marc Ganis says with situations like this one, and especially with Buffalo being a small market, we need to show potential buyers and other NFL owners that we can be successful here in Western New York.

“Every interest group interested in the Bills staying here needs to step up,” Ganis said. “Fans been to buy tickets, sponsors to buy sponsorships, suites to be sold, tailgate parties, bars to be filled. That’s the kind of atmosphere we need to keep the Bills in Buffalo for generations to come.

With the current lease agreement, it would be very difficult for a new owner to move the team before 2020.

Although Bills fans are disappointed the team has not made the playoffs in 14 years, Ganis says it’s crucial to continue to show support for the franchise and show everyone is serious about the Bills in Buffalo.
