BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- West Seneca attorney Kenneth Bernas pleaded guilty on Tuesday to 13 counts of second degree grand larceny, 18 counts of third degree grand larceny and one count of identify theft in connection with an embezzlement scheme that prosecutors say bilked $2.5 million from unsuspecting Western New Yorkers.

Bernas used the money to build and furnish his luxurious Orchard Park mansion, said Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita.

Bernas will be sentenced on December 10 and faces up to 50 years in prison. He will be permanently disbarred as well, Sedita said.
