A special section in this week's Business First shows how developers are getting creative as they search for development opportunities. WNY once had a decent stock of shovel-ready sites and plenty of older buildings waiting for development. But the supply has dwindled. The report says that's due to several factors. For one, developers like Mark Croce say the good properties have already been scooped up. Right now, there are nearly $2 billion in projects in the pipeline in Buffalo. The question still remains - what will happen to Buffalo's largest office building when HSBC moves out later this year? HSBC's lease at the tower expires Oct 31.

HSBC Tower tops the list of office buildings in downtown Buffalo based on total square feet. Key Center is next. Delaware North is considering moving out of that site. Avant is third, followed by Main Place Tower and the Liberty Building.
