Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo police are investigating what appears to be another murder in the city.
Police discovered the body of a woman in her 30's when they were called to a home at 88 Andover Avenue on the city's east side on Monday afternoon.
Chief Dennis Richards from Buffalo Police remained vague, saying "police have found a woman who is in her mid thirties, deceased. I am not going to go into the characterization of how she came to be deceased right now."
That call came in around 3:25 in the afternoon. Police are saying very little about the case, except that they have located a person of interest.
That person of interest is the deceased woman's husband, 32-year-old Antoine D Mattox.
Neighbors along this street tell Eyewitness News that it's usually a quiet street, but they have noticed activity at this home before.
Jacquelyn Collins says "there was a lot of fighting and things going on there but I live a couple doors down but I never heard, I seen the police there a couple of times."
However Michael Sweat, who came to look at the scene, says the whole east side is plagued by violence.
"At the end of the day it's ain't worth it. It ain't worth it," Sweat says. "There's kids out here you know they see stuff now a days and they follow suit so, we need to put an end to it."
