TOWN OF NIAGARA (WKBW) The planning board for the Town of Niagara has received specific details of the $71 million dollar expansion planned for Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.
Fifty new stores will be added, with two of them being new department stores.
Over 1400 new parking spaces will be created and the parking area for busses will be expanded to handle up to 40 busses.
The popular shopping area will also have a new dedicated public space.
It is a big turnaround for the mall which was bankrupt around five years ago when it was owned by Prime Outlets.
Fashion Outlets is now owned by Macerich out of Santa Monica, California which is considered one of the top operators of retail shopping areas throughout the United States.
Groundbreaking for the project is expected in November 2013 with construction expected to be done in time for the Christmas 2014 shopping season.
