BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo Common Council decided to push the vote to confirm Daniel Derenda as Buffalo Police Commissioner to a special session on Wednesday.
Derenda's nomination has come under fire lately, and Common Council members questioned the City's Human Resources Commissioner on the process of the nomination Monday.
Council members question the legitimacy of the 'national search', and asked probing questions regarding the process of the nomination and the number of applicants interviewed.
The Council also delayed a vote to pass the sale of City land to the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation as part of the Canal Side Project. That vote could have to wait until the Common Council returns from their summer recess.
