TOWN OF LOCKPORT, N.Y. ( WKBW/RELEASE ) The Niagara County Sheriff's Office terminated Deputy Kevin Rohde's employment this morning, citing county policy.

Rohde pleaded guilty to child endangerment in February, following an investigation into assault accusations against a female teen in a 1999 incident. Rohde was suspended with pay during the investigation.

The former deputy originally faced a first degree rape charge, but a judge granted him youthful offender status because Rohde was only 18 years old in 1999.

According to a release Eyewitness News obtained from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office:

Today at 1100hrs, the Sheriff's Office initiated the termination of Deputy Sheriff Kevin Rohde's employment with the Sheriff's Office, effective immediately in accordance with NCSO rules and regulations, county policy, civil service and the PBA union contract.
